Ederson Moraes will become best-paid goalkeeper in the world if he joins Galatasaray

Galatasaray will make Ederson Moraes the best-paid goalkeeper in the world after the Brazilian agreed on personal terms with the Turkish giants.

According to TBR, Ederson Moraes took a giant step towards leaving Manchester City after agreeing on personal terms with Galatasaray. The Brazilian could become the best-paid goalkeeper in the world should he join the Turkish giants, as his stay at Manchester City could be inching closer to an end.

Galatasaray have been making some smashing signings this summer, with Victor Osimhen being the feather in their cap. The Nigerian striker has joined the Istanbul giants permanently after a successful loan spell last season, with the attacker set to make around £13 million per year net.

Galatasaray have also signed Leroy Sane on a free transfer and offered him attractive wages too. Now, they are angling a similar strategy with their chase of Ederson Moraes, after the keeper agreed on personal terms with the Turkish giants, as he could be paid a similar salary to Osimhen and could become the best-paid goalkeeper in the world.

Ederson had been angling for a departure from Manchester City since last summer when he was close to leaving for the Saudi Pro League. This summer, he is in the final year of his deal, which would force the club to either offer him a new deal or sell him. Keeping him beyond the summer might cause the risk of losing the Brazilian on a free transfer next summer.

Manchester City have already signed James Trafford from Burnley, and initial reporting surrounding the deal sounded out a potential exit for second-choice stopper Stefan Ortega. However, with Ederosn now agreeing on personal terms, the club’s plans could change exponentially, which could see the German depart.

Galatasaray wants a new goalkeeper

Fernando Mulsera left the club after 14 years as their undisputed No.1, as Galatasaray wants to bring in a high-profile replacement for the Uruguayan. Gianluigi Donnarumma was a target earlier, and might still be part of their thinking, but it appears Ederson has moved up the ladder.

The £13 million per season contract offer for Ederson showcases how serious Galatasaray are about bringing the Brazilian to Istanbul. Any deal will now depend on Manchester City’s asking price for their long-serving contract, as Galatasaray will hope to pay a reasonable fee and nothing exorbitant.
