Aston Villa rival West Ham United in Amine Adli chase

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are set to battle it out with rivals West Ham United for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen star Amine Adli.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, West Ham United and Aston Villa are both keen on acquiring the services of Amine Adli, who seems to have his heart set on trying out a new challenge. He seems to prefer a move to the Premier League ahead of next season.

After coming up the ranks at Toulouse and making a name for himself while playing for their first team, Adli made the move to Germany back in 2021, and he hasn’t looked back since.

While he struggled with injuries last season, the 25-year-old did play a massive part in their Bundesliga triumph during the 2023/24 season. Adli prefers playing out wide on the left flank, but he is very capable of featuring anywhere in attack.

He still has three years left on his deal at Leverkusen, but he is ready to part ways with the club this summer. He wants to try a new chapter in his career and is particularly interested in testing himself in the English top flight, amidst interest from Aston Villa and West Ham.

Adli set to move to the Premier League?

The German club are aware of his desire, the report suggests he could be available for a fee of around €25-30 million. With the player keen on playing in the Premier League, Aston Villa and West Ham are set to battle it out for his signature.

The Hammers recently parted ways with one of their best players as Mohammed Kudus made the move to Tottenham. They are looking for someone who can fill the void, and believe Adli could help their cause. His versatility could certainly help their cause, and the price tag is well within their reach.

However, they are set to face tough competition from Villa. Unai Emery’s team are also looking for more quality in the final third, and Adli seems to be a top target for them. The Spanish manager loves working with players who can give him multiple tactical options, and the Moroccan international certainly fits the bill.
