Newly promoted Premier League club Sunderland will reportedly look to sign 19-year-old Chelsea wonderkid Marc Guiu from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

According to an update by French journalist Sebastien Vidal, Marc Guiu is the subject of interest from Sunderland. The Black Cats are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window. So, the 19-year-old Chelsea wonderkid has emerged as a target for the newly promoted Premier League club.

The 2024/25 EFL Championship promotion playoff winners have opened talks to sign the Spaniard on loan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Blues are open to sanctioning a temporary exit for the highly-rated striker, thus boosting Sunderland’s prospects. The Black Cats “are pushing ahead despite competition from Leipzig”.

Marc Guiu has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Chelsea from Barcelona last summer. The Granollers native was an acclaimed signing when he arrived at Stamford Bridge after his impressive cameos for Barcelona in the 2023/24 season. The 19-year-old made his mark in his debut campaign with the West London club and produced a few game-changing displays.

While the Spanish attacking sensation has managed only 619 minutes of game time across 16 appearances and chipped in with six goals, he has been impressive in his outings in the final third for Chelsea. However, the teenage prospect faces an uncertain future at the West London club after Liam Delap and Joao Pedro arrived at Stamford Bridge earlier this summer.
