Manchester United ramp up efforts to sign Benjamin Sesko

Manchester United are ready to ramp up their efforts to sign Benjamin Sesko, although they are yet to make a formal bid to test RB Leipzig.

According to TalkSport, Manchester United are set to ramp up their efforts to sign Benjamin Sesko. The Red Devils are prioritising a striker but remain undecided whether they want someone with a big upside for the future or a proven product, as they are yet to make an official bid to test RB Leipzig’s resolve.

Manchester United continued to tinker with their choice of striker, as the coming period seems important with regards to a decision. The Red Devils have a few names on their list with regards to potential options, as Benjamin Sesko is someone very high on their list.

Manchester United have ramped up their efforts to try and sign the Slovenian ahead of the coming period. They are already in contact with Sesko’s camp, although an official bid for the striker is yet to be made, as they are yet to decide whether to make a concrete approach.

Newcastle United are also chasing the striker as a direct replacement for Alexander Isak, but there are some doubts whether the attacker wants to join them. On paper, Manchester United may have an upper hand in proceedings despite not being able to offer Champions League football.

His asking price is a potential itch for suitors as Leipzig are eager to get at least €80 million, but clubs like Arsenal were looking to get a deal done at €70 million. Manchester United could face a similar issue when it comes to negotiating with the Germans.

Manchester United to decide on striker target

Sesko had 27 goals and assists for Leipzig last season, and seems like a good enough option. However, Manchester United are still torn between choosing someone as raw as the Slovenian and others, who are experienced in the Premier League such as Nicolas Jackson or Ollie Watkins.

They do reportedly prefer Jackson over Watkins, although the latter is still an option to consider. However, the idea of Sesko and the upside he has in his career could be the turning point in Manchester United making their decision, as an official bid could be on the cards soon.
