Arsenal prepared to get rid of Leandro Trossard
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are ready to sanction the departure of Leandro Trossard amidst interest from three European clubs.
According to Graeme Bailey via TBR, Leandro Trossard is all set to part ways with Arsenal and the North London club have decided that they will not stand in his way. The Belgian international is on the wishlist of Napoli, Atalanta and Borussia Dortmund.
After making a name for himself at Brighton, the 30-year-old made the move to Arsenal at the start of 2023 for an initial £20 million. Despite not being a regular starter, Trossard has still been a very important part of Mikel Arteta’s team.
Trossard looks set to leave Arsenal
Last season, he was involved in a total of 56 matches, and he ended up contributing towards 20 goals. While he still has a year left on his deal, the Belgian winger’s future is up in the air.
He seems to be keen on parting ways with Arsenal as he is already behind Gabriel Martinelli in the pecking order and could slip further down with the Gunners pushing to sign a new left-sided winger.
While speaking about his future, Bailey said: “Arsenal have no qualms about keeping Trossard and likewise, he could stay,”
“However, he knows the club are happy to move on from him and are looking at alternatives. With that, I am told he is happy to look elsewhere.
“Trossard has loved his time at Arsenal, but it seems like that chapter will come to an end next month before the transfer window closes.”
With Trossard keen on a move away, Arsenal have decided that they will let him leave. While he could choose to continue, the Gunners don’t mind a potential departure as they are already looking for an alternative. The 30-year-old has loved his time in North London, but he feels it’s time for a new chapter.
Three European clubs want to sign Trossard
Talks over a potential new deal have already stalled, and his agents are already working hard to find him a new club. Napoli, Atalanta and Borussia Dortmund are all keen on his signature.
The German giants are looking for a new winger following the departure of Jamie Gittens. They are aware that re-signing Jadon Sancho won’t be that straightforward, as a result, they are looking at Trossard.
Meanwhile, Napoli and Atalanta have entered the race. The Naples-based club are looking for a new attacking option, having missed out on Dan Ndoye, and the Belgian winger fits the bill.
With Ademola Lookman set to join Inter Milan, Atalanta also seek more quality in the final third, and Trossard is considered an ideal fit for their system.
