West Ham United considering Fabio Vieira swoop

West Ham United have added Fabio Vieira to their list of potential transfer targets for the summer, with Arsenal open to offers.

According to Ben Jacobs, West Ham United could contemplate a move for Fabio Vieira this summer. The Hammers have yet to make an approach for the midfielder, but he could be someone on their list for this window, as the Gunners are open to offers.

Arsenal have done a fair bit of business in the summer after adding six new players in this window alone. The Gunners are still keen for an addition or two, which may depend on outgoings, as they have a fair number of players potentially out of Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Reiss Nelson is close to re-joining Fulham, while others like Leandro Trossard could attract interest from suitors. One other player high on their sales list is Fabio Vieira, who cost Arsenal €40 million, with the big move that happened back in the summer of 2023 unlikely to work out anymore.

Vieira left on loan to re-join his former side, FC Porto, on a season-long loan deal, making 43 appearances across all competitions, including the Club World Cup. His spell there was considered a mild success, and while Porto contemplated opening talks with Arsenal, it appears they have not moved forward in that regard.

Vieira’s future at Arsenal remains uncertain, and with two years remaining on his deal, this window might be ideal for the club to sell. A loan move might seem unlikely at this stage, as the Gunners will want a permanent solution for the midfielder who cost them €40 million.

West Ham keen on Fabio Vieira

West Ham have emerged as surprise suitors for Vieira, with the East London outfit considering making a move. The Hammers have lost Mohammed Kudus, as Graham Potter eyes a player who can add creativity and play multiple midfield positions. Shakhtar Donetsk’s Georgiy Sudakov remains a target, and now the interest in Vieira signals the need for an attacking midfielder.

Parma were interested in Fabio Vieira a while ago, as former Arteta assistant, Carlos Cuesta, now the head coach for the Italian side, may have wanted him on board. However, the Gunners would prefer to make as much money from a potential sale and will hope the Hammers come forward with an offer for the Portuguese star.
