Toby Collyer set for crunch talks with Ruben Amorim, Manchester United loan exit possible

Toby Collyer is set for talks with Ruben Amorim and the higher-ups at Manchester United ahead of the possibility of leaving on loan.

According to The Daily Mail, Toby Collyer’s immediate future could be decided after he holds crunch talks with Ruben Amorim and the higher-ups at Manchester United. There is a distinct possibility of the midfielder leaving the club on loan to gain regular experience as he might fall in the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are active in the transfer market and remain intent on strengthening their squad. While they have signed players for the attacking third, Ruben Amorim may want a new midfielder in the ranks. The central setup under the Portuguese manager is somewhat weak and needs a big presence there.

Morten Hjulmand is being linked with a move, while there are others like Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara are also on their list. Either way, the club are intent on bringing in a midfielder to either play alongside Bruno Fernandes or allow the skipper to play further ahead.

On the other side, Manchester United are also keen on offloading several of their high-profile stars, including Jadon Sancho, among others. There’s also the element of Amorim being keen to trim the squad as they do not have European football for the second time in 35 years.

Harry Amass is expected to leave, while now there are strong reports that Toby Collyer is also on the list of departures. Both those players are expected to depart on loan to get regular game time elsewhere and continue their growth as players.

Toby Collyer set for crunch talks

Collyer played 13 times across all competitions, including his debut in last season’s Community Shield. The homegrown 21-year-old Manchester United whizkid may find it difficult to challenge for a place in Amorim’s midfield, and a lack of game time may come to hamper his development.

Hence, Collyer is set for crunch talks with Amorim and the higher-ups at Manchester United to determine his immediate future at the club. There’s a distinct possibility of the homegrown 21-year-old Manchester United whizkid leaving on loan for the whole season ahead, although his destination for that remains unclear at this point.
