Thomas Frank’s Tottenham Hotspur have received a massive blow in their pursuit of Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes.

Tottenham are on the lookout for a new forward as they look to add more firepower to their attack ahead of the new season. The North London club are interested in acquiring the services of Rodrygo Goes. According to Santi Aouna, Spurs did make an enquiry about the Real Madrid star, but he has no interest in joining them.

Rodrygo’s future has been up in the air since the arrival of Xabi Alonso. While he was an integral part of Los Blancos’ first-team setup until last season, the new manager cannot guarantee him a starting role.

The Brazil international featured for just 92 minutes during the Club World Cup, which did make it clear that Rodrygo is not an integral part of Alonso’s plans moving forward. As a result, the 24-year-old is considering parting ways with the club.

While the player still has three years left on his deal, Los Blancos are also ready to sanction his departure as long as their demands are met. Rodrygo is yet to make a final decision on his future. He could choose to continue at Madrid, but multiple clubs are already trying to lure him away, given his current situation.

Tottenham fail with their attempt to sign Rodrygo

Tottenham are one of the clubs that are interested in acquiring his services. Thomas Frank wants more quality out wide on the flanks, and Rodrygo could be just the perfect fit for them. He could be a marquee signing for them as they are set to return to the Champions League.

With Son Heung-min expected to be on the move, the Real Madrid forward could take his place in the team. While Spurs did make an enquiry about his availability, they have received a blow in their pursuit as the Brazilian international has no interest in joining them.

Despite the enquiry, there are no talks ongoing about a potential move. If Rodrygo does end up deciding to make a move away, he is aiming to join a bigger club than Tottenham. He wants to continue playing at the highest level and fight for all major titles.
