Manchester United ponder Alejandro Garnacho swap deal with Chelsea, Aston Villa for Nicolas Jackson, Ollie Watkins

Manchester United are currently exploring a possible swap with Chelsea or Aston Villa involving Alejandro Garnacho in exchange for their strikers.

According to The Independent, Manchester United could explore a potential swap deal involving unwanted attacker Alejandro Garnacho. The Red Devils are looking at the possibility of offering the Argentine to Chelsea or Aston Villa for their strikers, Nicolas Jackson and Ollie Watkins, respectively.

Manchester United are yet to find the right striker despite adding Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in this window. Ruben Amorim wants a new No.9 to lead his attack, but so far the struggling Premier League giants have suffered setbacks in pursuit of top targets, namely Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres.

Manchester United remain in conversation for Benjamin Sesko, but there might be a case that Manchester United might prioritise someone with enough Premier League experience, something the Slovenian lacks. Apart from needing a striker, the Red Devils are tasked with some high-profile sales os players such as Alejandro Garnacho.

Manchester United are keen to offload Garnacho and would prioritise a sale rather than a loan. The club are aware of big interest from within the Premier League as well as abroad, with the Argentine seemingly keen to stay in England.

Garnacho would be open to joining Chelsea, with the London outfit holding an interest since January. The issue here is the valuation gap, which may come to hamper Manchester United’s potential plan to propose a swap involving Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson.

Manchester United are thinking of swapping Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United prefer Jackson over Ollie Watkins, with the Aston Villa star being another one of their key targets. While they could try to propose a swap deal with Chelsea for the Senegalese international, there is also a possibility of exploring a similar deal with Aston Villa for Watkins.

However, Aston Villa are keen to keep Watkins, which will come as a blow for Manchester United in the current window. The idea to explore an Alejandro Garnacho swap with Chelsea or Aston Villa might have some creative thinking, but neither of those clubs are likely to accept the idea, as they may want separate deals for their respective strikers.
