Jadon Sancho agrees personal terms with Juventus, minor details holding back move
Juventus have reached an agreement to sign Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho, but minor details are delaying the deal.
According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus have an agreement in place to sign Jadon Sancho this summer. They have agreed terms with the player as well as Manchester United. However, minor details are yet to be agreed upon and the Old Lady need to part ways with a few of their players before this move could go through.
United broke the bank to sign Sancho in the summer of 2021 following his sensational performances at Borussia Dortmund. While they had a lot of expectations from the English international, the move hasn’t worked out, and he has spent the last 18 months out on loan.
Last season, he was on loan at Chelsea. Despite having limited minutes, the 25-year-old winger certainly made the most out of it as he finished with 15 goal contributions in his 41 outings. However, he still couldn’t convince the Blues to sign him on a permanent basis.
While he is back at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are looking to get him on the books with just 12 months left on his contract. Multiple top clubs were linked with him, but Juventus have had the most concrete interest in his services.
Juventus are within touching distance of signing Sancho
The Old Lady seek more quality on the flanks, and they believe Sancho could do wonders for them. More importantly, he could prove to be a cost-effective option. Juventus have been working on a potential deal for weeks.
After long-drawn negotiations with United, they managed to lower the English club’s demands and have agreed on a deal worth £15 million. Meanwhile, Sancho has also accepted Juventus’ offer worth £6 million over four years plus bonuses.
While he has agreed to take a massive pay cut, some minor details are still missing. His severance package with United is yet to be sorted while the Turin-based club are yet to fully determine the player’s bonuses. Apart from these details, Juventus can’t really step up their pursuit as they need to make some sales first.
The Old Lady are looking to get Timothy Weah, Nico Gonzalez and Dusan Vlahovic off their books. Their departure could make it a lot easier for them to sign Sancho. As soon as any of them leaves, they could complete the United winger’s signing. While there is no deadline, they do need to rush to avoid a potential hijack from another club.
