Leeds United keen on Riccardo Sottil

Newly promoted Leeds United are interested in acquiring the services of Fiorentina winger Riccardo Sottil.

According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, Leeds United are keen on signing Riccardo Sottil as they look to add more quality to their attack ahead of the next season. The Italian winger is expected to part ways with Fiorentina, and the Yorkshire-based outfit see this as a great opportunity.

Sottil got promoted to Fiorentina’s first team back in 2018, but he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a mainstay in their team. The 26-year-old has had multiple loan spells away from the club over the years.

He spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at AC Milan. He was only involved in a total of eight matches for the Italian giants. While he did put in a few impressive performances, those weren’t enough to convince Milan to buy him on a permanent basis.

While Sottil is back at his parent club and still has two years left on his deal, he is no longer a part of their plans moving ahead. Fiorentina would like to cash in on him, and if a permanent departure isn’t possible, they would certainly want to secure another loan move for the 26-year-old.

The Viola have travelled to Birmingham, England, for their pre-season training camp ahead of a few friendly fixtures with English clubs. But Sottil isn’t a part of the travelling group as the Italian club look to get him off their books.

Leeds United could sign Sottil

While multiple Italian clubs are interested in his services, Leeds United also seem to be keen on his signature. The Yorkshire-based club secured a return to the Premier League after doing wonders in the Championship last time out.

Now, Daniel Farke is looking to add more quality to his squad to ensure they stay up. He wants more firepower in the final third, and they feel Sottil could help their cause. As a result, Leeds have recently enquired about his availability.

With Fiorentina ready to offload the 26-year-old, the Yorkshire-based outfit could secure his services in a bargain deal. It will be interesting to see if they do make a move in the coming days.
