Real Madrid submit offer to sign William Saliba
Real Madrid have been rumoured to have submitted an offer for William Saliba that involves significant cash plus two of their current first-team stars.
According to Fichajes, Real Madrid have reportedly made an offer to sign William Saliba. The Spanish giants, rumoured to have offered €90 million plus two of their existing first team stars as part of the deal, as they are determined to bring the French defender to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid are set to think hard about some more signings in the time remaining in this window. Florentino Perez might focus on the midfield and defensive areas of the pitch as new manager Xabi Alonso feels there is plenty of room for additions to this squad, even if it means some existing stars may have to depart.
Sticking with the defensive side of things, Real Madrid already signed Dean Huijsen at the start of the window, and they have more additions planned. Due to Alonso’s insistence on a solid back-three, a recent report from the same publication linked the club with a move for Premier League defensive duo William Saliba and Ibrahima Konate.
There are already rumblings of Real Madrid trying with a low bid for the Frenchman this summer, or else they will persuade him to move on a free next summer. With Saliba, the situation is rather complicated because he has two more years left on his current Arsenal deal.
Saliba is reportedly closing in on a new deal with Arsenal as talks have been underway for a few months now. In a recent comment following the pre-season win over Newcastle United, the defender made the biggest indication that he might pen fresh terms with the Gunners, which would effectively end any lingering hopes for Real Madrid in this chase.
Real Madrid have made William Saliba offer
Despite Arsenal preparing a lucrative deal to keep hold of Saliba, as per the report, Real Madrid have seemingly made an offer for the Gunners to consider. It appears the Spanish giants are willing to table €90 million in cash, plus allowing Arda Guler and Raul Acensio to leave as part of the deal.
Further details, as relayed by the report, state Real Madrid would only allow Guler to join the Gunners on a season-long loan deal, while Acensio could move permanently. Despite the report stating that Arsenal might consider the offer, the reality is that neither of those players are what the Gunners need at the moment, and neither are they even remotely thinking about selling Saliba despite the €90 million in cash on offer.
