Manchester United send officials to wrap up Jadon Sancho transfer
Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are doing everything in their power to get Jadon Sancho off their books.
Jadon Sancho’s future has been a massive talking point for weeks. While reports earlier suggested that Juventus were on the verge of securing his services, the deal is far from done as the negotiations between the two clubs are believed to be very complex.
According to Corriere dello Sport via SportWitness, Manchester United have sent an official to Turin to wrap up the deal. They have asked intermediary Matthew Conning to help them strike a deal with Juventus as both clubs are still far apart in terms of their valuation of the English international.
Sancho made quite a name for himself at Borussia Dortmund before joining United in a blockbuster deal back in 2021. While there were a lot of expectations from the 25-year-old, he has failed to live up to them.
After falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag, he returned to Dortmund for a short loan spell before spending the 2024/25 season out on loan at Chelsea. While he did a decent job for the Blues, they decided against signing him permanently.
Sancho is back at Old Trafford, but he doesn’t have a future at the club under Ruben Amorim. With his contract running out in less than 12 months, United are pushing to get him off the books.
Multiple top clubs have been linked with him, but Juventus have been the most serious about securing his services. The Old Lady are looking for more quality on the flanks, and they feel the United misfit could help their cause.
United are pushing hard to offload Sancho
The Turin-based outfit already have the green light from the player, but they haven’t been able to strike a deal with the English giants. Juventus are only willing to offer around €18 to €19 million, while United are holding out on their asking price of €25 million.
United want him off their books as soon as possible. His departure could help them with potential signings. As a result, they have asked Conning to travel to Turin and get the job done, as negotiations to this point have been quite complex.
Not only is he in charge of helping the teams reach a common ground, but he will also play a role in finalising the 25-year-old’s severance package. The report suggests Juventus are open to paying a part of the package as a sign of appreciation to Sancho, who has agreed to lower his wages to move to Turin. The Italian giants could pay the amount as a signing-on bonus, as it could help them save some transfer fee as well.
