Evann Guessand closing in on joining Crystal Palace

Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace are reportedly closing in on the signature of OGC Nice attacking sensation Evann Guessand.

According to Sebastien Vidal, Evann Guessand seems all set to be making the move to the Premier League this summer as Crystal Palace are on the verge of securing his services. They are within touching distance of striking a deal with OGC Nice.

Guessand has come up the ranks at Nice. While he did get promoted to their first team back in 2020, he had to wait for his chances. Following a few impressive loan spells, the 24-year-old striker finally got an extended run in the team during the 2023/24 season.

Thanks to his impressive performances, he became one of their mainstays last season. The Ivory Coast international was involved in a total of 42 matches and ended up contributing towards 23 goals (13 goals, 10 assists). While the versatile attacker prefers playing as a nine, Guessand is capable enough to feature anywhere in attack.

The French-born attacker’s versatility, along with his impressive performances, has put him on the radar of multiple top clubs. While Guessand still has three years left on his deal with Nice, he looks all set to part ways with the Ligue 1 club this summer.

Guessand to join Crystal Palace in the coming days

Crystal Palace are the ones who seem to have won the race for his signature. Oliver Glasner seeks more quality in the final third and considers the versatile Guessand an ideal fit for his system and the club’s project.

The Eagles have been working on a potential transfer for some time and seem close to securing his services. Sebastien Vidal has suggested Oliver Glasner’s team are getting close to a deal for the OGC Nice striker, and the final fee could be between £25–30 million.

With three years still left on his deal, it looks like a reasonable fee. While Glasner already has Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eddie Nketiah in his ranks, Guessand could still add a lot of qualities to Palace’s attack. Not only will he make them more threatening going forward, but he will also give the manager multiple tactical options.
