Benjamin Sesko expected to decide on future soon

Benjamin Sesko could decide his next destination this week, with interest ramping up from the likes of Newcastle United and Manchester United.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Benjamin Sesko could make a big decision on his future this week, as speculation surrounding his future has ramped up. The striker was in talks with Arsenal earlier, but it appears Newcastle United and Manchester United are the prime contenders for the Slovenian striker.

Benjamin Sesko has returned to make headlines as interest in the striker continues to pick up steam. The striker was earlier linked with a move to Arsenal, who held extensive talks with his camp as well as RB Leipzig, but eventually chose to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.

As the Gyokeres deal materialised, the links around Sesko dried up, but in recent days, Premier League sides like Newcastle United and Manchester United have ramped up their interest. The Slovenian who got 27 goals and assists for RB Leipzig across all competitions last season is eager to embark on a new challenge, and could be tempted by the Premier League.

The striker is set to decide on his future by this week, and once his suitors become clearer, he could potentially choose one of those. For now, the Magpies are keen but waiting for a final green light from the attacker before they lodge an official bid.

Manchester United are interested and are probably in a similar situation to Newcastle United. They, too, want Sesko to give them a full agreement on joining the club before launching a bid to understand what RB Leipzig wants in return for their 27 G/A striker.

Newcastle United or Manchester United for Benjamin Sesko?

Both of those teams are struggling to sign a new striker, with either of those sides experiencing rejection from some of their prior targets. Some reports stated that Sesko could be open to joining Newcastle United, and realistically, the Magpies can offer Champions League football next season, something Manchester United are not able to.

Manchester United, as a brand and football institution, are gigantic and could have the traditional appeal for players like Sesko. The only issue for both those teams is the rawness of the striker, who is yet to fully develop into a top star in the No.9 role, although he has the talent to become a top-rated striker for the future.
