Al-Nassr submit offer to sign Antony, player open to move
Al-Nassr have reportedly submitted an offer to Manchester United for unwanted winger Antony, with the Brazilian open to the move.
According to Team Talk, Antony is the subject of an offer from Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr. The Middle Eastern side have reportedly submitted a proposal for Manchester United’s consideration, which may have to be improved given the Red Devils want around €50 million for the Brazilian flop.
Manchester United have had a decent transfer window so far, with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Ruben Amorim wants more incomings for key areas, including a new midfielder and a centre-forward, although now the club may have to focus on some key sales before they can bring in fresh faces.
There are a host of high-profile players who are out of Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season. Those include Antony, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho, while Marcus Rashford has already joined Barcelona on a loan deal. Amorim is keen to see the club offload those players, but remains open to re-integrating them should they fail to move out.
Antony is a curious case as he’s certainly proved to be a big flop since his £85 million move from Ajax back in 2022. He did spend the last six months with Real Betis with good effect, and despite the Spanish side holding talks with Manchester United, a move there seems unlikely at this moment.
Newcastle United are also keen, as per some reports, while a few sides from Brazil are keen. Antony is not interested in a move back to his homeland, although he might have opened the doors to signing for Al-Nassr, who very recently hijacked a move for Joao Felix, and now they are keen to bring the resurgent Manchester United flop.
Al-Nassr makes Antony offer
Antony is reportedly open to joining Al-Nassr after the Saudi Pro League side made an offer to Manchester United. It appears they may have to improve their bid as the Red Devils seek at least €50 million, which was their original asking price, and they do not wish to give any discount to Al-Nassr.
The player wants to play regular first-team football, with he aim of keeping his hopes alive to make it to the Brazilian World Cup squad next year. Now, things might depend on whether Al-Nassr can make an improved bid to convince Manchester United to get rid of the resurgent flop.
