Tottenham open to Mikey Moore loan exit

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly be open to sanctioning a loan departure for Mikey Moore in the summer transfer window amid his links with EFL Championship clubs.

According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur will reluctantly sanction a loan exit for Mikey Moore in the summer transfer window. EFL Championship clubs Birmingham City FC and West Bromwich Albion are keen on signing the English attacking sensation in the summer transfer window. However, they may face stiff competition from Eredivisie teams for his signature.

Mikey Moore and his young career so far

Mikey Moore has established himself as one of the best young prospects in his homeland in the last few years. A native of London, the highly-rated winger has spent his formative years thus far in his home city, having been with Tottenham Hotspur since 2016 and coming leaps and bounds in his near-decade-long stint with the North London outfit.

The 17-year-old has rapidly progressed through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur before breaking into the first-team squad at the North London club towards the end of the 2023/24 season. The youngster has turned out 21 times thus far for Tottenham’s senior side while chipping in with one goal and two assists.

Meanwhile, Moore’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Recent reports have linked the English attacking sensation with Borussia Dortmund. However, a move to the EFL Championship may be on the cards, with West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City FC among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

What next?

Recent reports have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will not part ways with Mikey Moore in the summer transfer window, either on loan or on a permanent deal. However, that stance has changed, with the North London outfit reluctantly ready to sanction his departure in the coming weeks.

Tottenham’s changed stance makes sense if they can find a suitable loan club for Moore. Regular game time will unlikely come Moore’s way in the 2025/26 season, considering the North London club will compete in Europe’s premier club football competition.

However, moving to the EFL Championship or the Eredivisie should suit Moore if his suitors need a new left-sided attacker. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 17-year-old English attacking sensation.
