Official | Leeds United sign Lucas Perri from Lyon
Leeds United have signed Brazil international goalkeeper Lucas Perri (27) from Lyon, both clubs have announced. Perri was one of the most reliable Ligue 1 goalkeepers last season. His performances and Lyon’s dire financial situation have made Perri an interesting prospect for European clubs this summer. Lyon have announced that Leeds United will pay a fixed €16m transfer fee as well as a further €2m in add-ons. Les Gones have included a 10% sell-on clause.

Perri joined Lyon from Eagle Football-owned Botafogo eighteen months ago. At first, he was Anthony Lopes’ understudy before making the position his own. He featured 49 times for the Ligue 1 side. The Brazilian has been linked with AS Monaco, who have considered many different targets in their search for a new No.1, including David de Gea. Leeds were monitoring Perri as they looked to upgrade on French goalkeeper Ilan Meslier, who came under increased scrutiny last season for some error-laden performances. Perri has signed a four-year deal with the Peacocks.
