Arsenal stepping up efforts to sign Eberechi Eze
Arsenal are set to ramp up their efforts in the Eberechi Eze chase and potentially even use Reiss Nelson as part of the deal.
According to Sebastian Vidal, Arsenal are set to crank up their efforts to land Eberechi Eze. The England international is viewed as their next top target, as the Gunners could even include wantaway winger Reiss Nelson during discussions with Crystal Palace.
Arsenal have moved with intent in the summer window, as they are set to announce a sixth signing in the form of striker Viktor Gyokeres. Sporting Director Andrea Berta has done a fabulous job in bringing in key attackers, midfielders and shoring up the backline with the arrivals of Cristhian Mosquera and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
With the Gyokeres signing now officially announced, Arsenal will have covered most of their key squad areas, and they have done a fantastic job of addressing the depth issues that plagued them last season. There’s a big feeling that they might have room for another big attacker in the squad, as there are strong links to Eberechi Eze.
Eze had a fabulous season with Crystal Palace with 25 goals and assists, as well as helping them win the FA Cup. The triumph in the cup competition represented the first ever major trophy for the Eagles in their club’s history, but his future is considered away from Selhurst Park, with Arsenal seen as the favourites to land the 27-year-old attacker.
The Gunners are now set to ramp up their efforts to land the attacker after completing the transfer of Gyokeres. Arsenal have had internal discussions over the Palace star, who has a £68 million release clause attached to his contract, as the Eagles will want the full fee.
Arsenal could include Reiss Nelson in Eberechi Eze deal
Eze has reportedly told friends he’s expecting a move to Arsenal, and that might be a big enough indication of the player’s preference for his next destination. The Gunners might hold concrete discussions with Palace in the coming period to determine their next steps.
Sebastian Vidal also suggested Arsenal could include Reiss Nelson as part of the discussions, with the winger clearly out of Mikel Arteta’s plans. David Ornstein stated the Gunners and Fulham are in advanced talks over a deal for Nelson. For him to be included in the Eze deal, the Gunners may have to work fast to open talks with Palace for the 27-year-old attacker.
