OGC Nice have completed the signing of defender Kojo Peprah Oppong (21). The Ghanaian arrives from Swedish top-flight side IFK Norrköping.
Having signed Manchester City’s Juma Bah on a season-long loan, another centre-back has been added to Nice’s ranks ahead of the upcoming season. Strengthening this sector has been a priority for Le Gym. Dante turns 42 in October and is in his final season as a professional; Moïse Bombito will miss the start of the season; and Youssouf Ndayishimiye and Mohamed Abdelmonem will miss a significant portion of the season, having suffered ACL injuries towards the end of last season.
Oppong has now joined the club on a permanent deal. The fee has not been disclosed, whilst the length of his contract has not been revealed by Nice. L’Équipe understands that the fee is between €2-3m. Having signed his contract, Oppong will now join up with his new teammates on their pre-season training camp in Austria.
Les Aiglons begin their campaign with a UEFA Champions League qualifier against SL Benfica on 6th August.
