Manchester United make approach for Riccardo Orsolini
Manchester United may look to sign 28-year-old Italian winger Riccardo Orsolini from Serie A club Bologna in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Italian outlet Il Resto del Carlino, Riccardo Orsolini is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a winger in the summer transfer window. So, the 28-year-old Bologna winger has emerged as a target for the Premier League outfit, and they have submitted an enquiry over a possible move.
Riccardo Orsolini and his career so far
Riccardo Orsolini has been one of the most underrated attackers in Serie A since joining Bologna from Juventus. The Rossoblu initially signed the Ascoli Piceno native on loan in January 2018 before completing a permanent move 18 months later. Since then, he has come leaps and bounds at the Serie A club.
The 28-year-old has turned out over 250 times thus far for Bologna while chipping in with 73 goals and 32 assists. However, Orsolini faces an uncertain future at the Serie A club after entering the final two years of his contract.
The situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. A move to the Premier League may be on the cards for the Italian international, with Manchester United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Manchester United’s interest in Riccardo Orsolini is understandable. The Red Devils have already bolstered their offensive unit by signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford. While Manchester United must sign a striker and a midfielder next, they can do with another wide attacker.
Orsolini has thus emerged as a viable target for Manchester United, with the Premier League club submitting an enquiry over a possible move in the summer transfer window. However, the 28-year-old is not the only attacker on Manchester United’s radar, with Bologna teammate Dan Ndoye also an option on the Red Devils’ wishlist.
While Ndoye can be a long-term solution for Manchester United, Orsolini can hit the ground running, considering he is at the peak of his powers. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can beat the competition to his signature in the summer transfer window.
