Chelsea advancing moves to sign Xavi Simons, Jorrel Hato
Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Dutch duo Xavi Simons and Jorrel Hato from RB Leipzig and Ajax, respectively.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are advancing in their pursuit of Dutch duo Xavi Simons and Jorrel Hato. The Blues are eager to land the two young stars for their defence and attack, as talks are progressing with RB Leipzig and Ajax, respectively.
Chelsea are set to make further moves in the market, as the club continues to move relentlessly to secure top targets. Enzo Maresca’s side have focused on bringing attackers in this window as the likes of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and Joao Pedro have arrived in this window.
There are a few outgoings expected out of the club as they have already sold Noni Madueke to Arsenal. While it appeared that they may shift their focus to other areas of the pitch, Chelsea are in for another attacker as they are advancing for Xavi Simons.
Chelsea are progressing on an agreement on personal terms with Simons, while talks with RB Leipzig are ongoing in the background. The player was always expected to depart the German giants after penning a permanent deal until 2027, and the Premier League was his preferred destination.
Chelsea have closed in on him and beat rivals like Arsenal, as the next few days will provide a clearer picture of the finer details of the move. The fee for the Dutchman is under wraps at the moment, but one might assume it to be high enough to suit Leipzig in their bid to make a profit.
Chelsea closing in on Jorrel Hato
Jorrel Hato is also a move Chelsea are advancing in, as talks with Ajax are moving in the right direction. The Blues had opened talks for the versatile defender a while back, and it appears they are intent on signing him. The Dutchman is also keen on the move, with the London side once again beating Arsenal in the process, as the Gunners were keen at some stage of the window.
With Hato, Maresca can have much more assurance on the left side of his backline, as the Ajax star can play left-back as well as centrally. Chelsea are now set to sign the Dutch duo in the coming days, and as Fabrizio Romano stated, they may not be done with the window just yet.
