Tottenham preparing final bid to sign Morgan Gibbs-White
Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old English international Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.
According to an update by French journalist Sebastien Vidal, Morgan Gibbs-White is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are eager to reinforce their offensive unit by signing a creative attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 25-year-old Nottingham Forest playmaker has emerged as a target for the North London outfit.
However, the Englishman’s move to Tottenham has stalled despite the club’s readiness to trigger his release clause of £65 million. The 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners are preparing their final proposal to sign Gibbs-White, and they are ready to offer £65 million to secure his services in the summer transfer window.
Morgan Gibbs-White and his rise as a Premier League star
Morgan Gibbs-White has seen his stock soar since joining Nottingham Forest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2022. The 25-year-old has been instrumental in the Tricky Trees’ ascent in the Premier League standings in the last three years, and he was excellent in the 2024/25 season.
The English international contributed to 17 goals in 34 Premier League appearances by finding the back of the net seven times and providing ten assists. Meanwhile, Gibbs-White’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Morgan Gibbs-White makes sense. The Lilywhites are scouring the market for a versatile attacker amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Son Heung-min and Richarlison. In addition, Timo Werner has returned to RB Leipzig after a dreadful loan spell.
So, Gibbs-White has emerged as a viable target, with Tottenham ready to trigger his release clause. However, recent reports have suggested that Nottingham Forest may pursue legal action for an “alleged illegal approach”. The move has thus stalled, although the Englishman is keen on joining Tottenham by this weekend. Nevertheless, the Europa League holders are ready to make their final bid to secure his services.
Tottenham will submit an offer worth £65 million to Nottingham Forest, hoping the Premier League high-flyers accept their final bid. While “tensions remain with Nottingham Forest after what was seen as an illegal approach”, the English international “wants his future resolved before the pre-season camp”. It will be interesting to see if the Lilywhites finally secure the services of the 25-year-old English international in the summer transfer window.
