Manchester City keen on Cole Palmer transfer
Manchester City plot a massive bid for Cole Palmer as Pep Guardiola would like him back, but Chelsea are not expected to entertain offers.
According to Fichajes, Manchester City could plot a record-breaking transfer for their former player Cole Palmer. The Chelsea key star is the subject of interest from Pep Guardiola, who would like him back, although Chelsea are unlikely to consider any offers at this point.
Chelsea’s new owners have been aggressive throughout their tenure and have not been shy of spending large sums of money. If there’s one thing the club have been criticised for, then it’s the lavish sums spent on players, and during that spell, the best bit of business they did was for Cole Palmer.
Palmer has been sensational since his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023. He has since established himself as their main star, and that stature only increased following a tremendous performance against PSG in the Club World Cup final.
There’s no surprise that a lot of clubs have been linked with a move for Palmer since last summer, which has included the likes of European champions PSG, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City. However, Chelsea’s stance has been clear about keeping Palmer, and they are secure in their quest as the England international has a longer-term deal until 2033.
Manchester City have also been linked in the past, with Chelsea reportedly demanding at least a world record bid to even consider the prospect of a sale. Pep Guardiola’s side are once again showing an interest in Palmer, who was their former player, having come through their academy.
However, his current status as well as what he can potentially bring to this side under Guardiola has rekindled Manchester City’s interest. The club are ready to make a sensational €170 million bid for the productive key star, although that may not prove enough in the grand scheme of things.
Chelsea are unlikely to consider Cole Palmer offers
The wider expectation is that Chelsea are building their promising project around Palmer over any other star. With the former Manchester City star central to their plans, the club are not expected to even consider the prospect of a sale at this time.
Even though Manchester City are reportedly planning on a mammoth €170 million bid, it may not prove enough to even make Chelsea consider it. Guardiola had wanted to replace the departed Kevin De Bruyne with Palmer, as he may have to make do with the recent arrival of Rayan Cherki as his main source of creativity for the upcoming season.
