Bayern Munich ready to raise bid to sign Luis Diaz
Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich are ready to submit a revised offer as they look to sign Liverpool mainstay Luis Diaz.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich are very keen on acquiring the services of Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. While their initial offer for the Colombian international’s signature was turned down by the Reds, the German giants are all set to return with an improved offer.
Diaz hasn’t looked back since joining the Merseyside club at the start of 2022 from FC Porto. He has been an integral part of the Liverpool first team since the start. The 28-year-old winger was ever present in Arne Slot’s XI as they ended up securing the league title last time out.
He was involved in a total of 50 matches across competitions and ended up contributing towards 25 goals. While Diaz still has two years left on his deal at the club and the Reds are very keen on having him around, the Colombian seems to be interested in a move away.
He reportedly wants to try a new challenge elsewhere. While Barcelona were linked with the Colombian winger, a potential deal was beyond their reach because of financial reasons. As a result, they have ended up securing the services of Marcus Rashford.
Bayern will return with another offer for Diaz
Apart from the Catalan giants, Bayern Munich are another top club that have been interested in the Liverpool star for a while. They seek more quality on the left flank and consider him an ideal fit for Kompany’s system.
The German giants reportedly submitted an opening offer worth €67.5 million last week, but it was turned down by the Reds. They are reluctant to sell and will only let go of him for a fee close to €100 million.
Bayern have already agreed personal terms with Diaz, and despite Liverpool’s massive demands, they are hoping to negotiate a lower fee with the English club. The Bundesliga champions are all set to return with an improved offer in the coming days as they look to strike a deal with the Reds.
The new offer could be worth around €80 million, but it might still fall well short of Liverpool’s price tag. While Diaz is a top target for Bayern, they are aware that they could miss out on him; as a result, they have identified Malick Fofana as an ideal alternative and have made contact to learn more about a potential transfer.
