RB Leipzig unlikely to sign Harvey Elliott due to price and wages
Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga, and RB Leipzig were keen on him.
According to journalist Philipp Hinze, the Bundesliga outfit are now unlikely to sign the 22-year-old England youth international because of his asking price and wages. They have been priced out of a move for the 22-year-old.
Elliott has been outstanding in the Under-21s this summer, and he was one of the best players in the tournament as he helped England win the competition.
He has been heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. He needs to leave the Premier League champions in order to play regularly. Sitting on the bench at Liverpool is unlikely to benefit him. The move to Germany could have been ideal for him.
Leipzig could have provided him with ample opportunities.
The player has been linked with multiple English clubs as well. It will be interesting to see if any club is willing to come forward and pay up for him. The 22-year-old is a tremendous prospect with a bright future, and he could develop into a key player for the right club. He is certainly good enough to compete at the highest level. He has shown his ability with Liverpool during his cameos.
He is capable of operating as the central attacking midfielder as well as on the flanks. His versatility will be an added bonus for any club that manages to secure his signature.
Elliott needs a move
The 22-year-old is a boyhood Liverpool fan, and he is not pushing for an exit from the club. However, he needs to consider a move this summer for his own benefit. If he can play regularly and fulfil his potential, he will have plenty of opportunities to move to elite clubs in the future. He is regarded as one of the finest young talents in the league, and sitting on the bench at Liverpool is detrimental to his development.
The player should look to sort out his long-term future quickly and focus on his football.
