Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham in talks with agent of Xavi Simons
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are in talks with RB Leipzig sensation Xavi Simons’ agents ahead of a potential transfer.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Xavi Simons could be living his final weeks at RB Leipzig as his agents are in talks with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham. The Dutch attacking sensation seems keen on a move to the Premier League, and all three London clubs would love to have him in their squad.
Simons hasn’t looked back since joining RB Leipzig on loan from PSG back in 2023. While it was a two-year-long loan deal, the German club made the move permanent at the start of 2025. He still has two years left on his current contract, but the 22-year-old is already keen on taking the next step in his career.
He wants to join a bigger club this summer, and according to the report, the Dutch international will be available for around €60 million. His representatives have already started working towards a potential transfer and have reached out to Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham to make his availability known.
London trio could battle it out for Simons
All three London clubs hold a long-standing interest in him and could certainly make a move for an attacking midfielder who contributed towards 19 goals in just 33 outings last season.
Tottenham are in the market for a new attacking midfielder as they look for someone who can compete with James Maddison for a place in the starting XI. Simons could certainly help their cause, and his ability to feature out wide could also come in handy.
While Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal already have Martin Odegaard, Simons could prove to be an ideal cover, and he could certainly rival Gabriel Martinelli for a starting spot on the left flank.
Chelsea have already added a lot of firepower this summer, but they could still look to make more signings as Noni Madueke has left the club, Joao Felix could follow, and Mykhailo Mudryk is serving a ban. Simons could prove to be an ideal addition, and he certainly fits their project, which revolves around signing the best young players.
For now, the clubs have only held initial talks with his agents; as a result, it will be interesting to see if any of them actually come forward with an offer for the 22-year-old in the coming weeks.
