Al-Hilal rival Liverpool in Alexander Isak chase

Arne Slot’s Liverpool face stiff competition from Saudi giants Al-Hilal in their bid to land Newcastle star Alexander Isak.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Al-Hilal have entered the race for the signature of Alexander Isak as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of next season. The Saudi Pro League giants are set to rival Premier League giants Liverpool in their pursuit of the Swedish international.

Isak has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Magpies in the summer of 2022 after making a name for himself at Real Sociedad. Not only has he established himself as a mainstay at the Tyneside club, but the 25-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world.

The Swedish striker was involved in a total of 42 matches last season, and he ended up contributing towards 33 goals (27 goals, 6 assists). Alexander Isak’s exceptional performances haven’t gone unnoticed, as multiple top clubs are after his signature.

Liverpool are trying to lure Isak to Anfield

Liverpool are one of the clubs that are very keen on signing the 25-year-old, as Arne Slot looks for a new striker following the tragic loss of Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez’s uncertain future. Alexander Isak is at the top of their wishlist, and they are willing to break the bank for him.

However, the Magpies have no intentions of negotiating his departure despite the massive fee on offer. With three years still left on his deal, Eddie Howe’s team are in quite a comfortable position with regards to his future.

Al-Hilal keen on Alexander Isak’s signature

While Liverpool have not given up just yet, they could now face stiff competition from Al-Hilal. The Saudi Pro League giants are looking to make a blockbuster signing ahead of next season. Simone Inzaghi’s team are looking for more firepower in the final third, and they have their eyes set on Isak.

Al-Hilal are willing to table a massive offer to convince both the club and the player. They certainly have the financial muscle to make Newcastle United reconsider his potential departure. More importantly, it is worth noting that they won’t face any issue regarding his signing, despite both clubs being owned by the PIF.
