Morgan Gibbs-White wants to seal Tottenham deal before Monday

Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White is reportedly keen on joining Tottenham Hotspur before the Tricky Trees travel to Portugal on Monday.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Morgan Gibbs-White is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on bolstering their offensive unit by signing a creative attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 25-year-old Nottingham Forest playmaker has been a target for the North London outfit.

The 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners have already triggered Gibbs-White’s release clause before inviting trouble from Nottingham Forest for “alleged illegal approach”. However, the Englishman is keen on moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the Tricky Trees embark on their pre-season training camp to Portugal.

Morgan Gibbs-White and his recent rise

Morgan Gibbs-White has established himself as one of the most promising playmakers in the Premier League since joining Nottingham Forest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2022. The 25-year-old has been a pivotal figure for the Midlands outfit while playing a part in the Tricky Trees’ ascent in the Premier League standings.

The English international enjoyed an excellent 2024/25 campaign, contributing to 17 goals in 34 Premier League appearances by finding the back of the net seven times and providing ten assists. Meanwhile, Gibbs-White’s exploits have piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

London calling?

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Morgan Gibbs-White is understandable. Richarlison faces an uncertain future at the North London club after failing to make his mark since arriving from Everton. In addition, Timo Werner has returned to RB Leipzig after a horrendous loan spell with Tottenham.

So, Gibbs-White has emerged as a viable target, with Tottenham showing the willingness to trigger his release clause. However, with Nottingham Forest threatening legal action for “alleged illegal approach”, the move has stalled. The Englishman is not ready to commit his future to the Tricky Trees, even though they have been ready to double his £60,000-a-week wages.

Instead, Gibbs-White is pushing to join Tottenham before Nottingham Forest’s trip to Portugal for a pre-season training camp begins. The 25-year-old English international is keen on joining Tottenham, with the North London club mulling over a bid worth £65 million. The Lilywhites will hope the player’s desire for a summer move seals the deal in the coming days.
