Manchester United hope to seal Bryan Mbeumo deal by this weekend

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are optimistic about completing the signing of Brentford mainstay Bryan Mbeumo by this weekend.

According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Manchester United are finally closing in on signing Bryan Mbeumo. The Red Devils are confident about securing the Brentford forward’s services by this weekend following a revised offer from their end.

Mbeumo has been a part of the Bees’ first-team setup since 2019. The French-born attacker has only gone from strength to strength over the years, and of late, he has been one of their mainstays. The 25-year-old right-winger was in sensational form last season.

Mbeumo was involved in a total of 42 matches across competitions and ended up contributing towards 29 goals (20 goals, 9 assists). All of his 20 strikes came in the Premier League, and his performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs in the country.

While Tottenham and Newcastle United were both keen on his signature, Mbeumo has turned down a move to both clubs as he only wants to join Manchester United. The Red Devils have him as a priority target for this summer, and they have been working on a potential transfer for weeks.

Manchester United could seal the Mbeumo deal

Talks between the two clubs appeared to stall earlier this week as Brentford had rejected two official offers from Manchester United. However, the struggling Premier League giants have not given up just yet. They have returned with an improved offer and are confident that it will do the trick.

They are hoping to get it done and dusted by this weekend. The new offer is believed to be worth up to £70 million. The Bees will receive £65 million as a fixed fee plus another £5 million as attainable add-ons. Manchester United feel this is the right offer to get it over the line, and sources close to Brentford have suggested that the move could soon go through.

Manchester United already have the green light from the player, who is patiently waiting to undergo his medical at his new club. They had told Mbeumo that they were confident of having him on their pre-season tour to America, and as things stand, that could certainly happen. Meanwhile, reports on Friday have revealed that the two clubs have reached an agreement for a summer deal.
