Ederson Moraes, Ilkay Gundogan open to Galatasaray move
Manchester City veterans Ilkay Gundogan and Ederson Moraes are reportedly open to joining Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray in the summer transfer window.
According to an update by reputed Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncoglu, as relayed by Haber Sarikirmizi, Ilkay Gundogan and Ederson Moraes are subjects of interest from Galatasaray. The Turkish giants are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a goalkeeper and a veteran midfielder in the summer transfer window.
The two Manchester City veterans are ready to join Galatasaray in the summer transfer window, thus boosting Cimbom’s prospects of securing their services. Meanwhile, the Premier League giants are willing to cash in on Ederson, whereas the move for Gundogan will likely materialise after Victor Osimhen returns to RAMS Park.
Ederson and Ilkay Gundogan at Manchester City so far
Ederson Moraes has come leaps and bounds since joining Manchester City from SL Benfica in July 2017. The Brazilian international has turned out over 350 times thus far for Manchester City while keeping 168 clean sheets and conceding 311 goals. However, he faces an uncertain future at the Etihad after eight fruitful campaigns with the Citizens.
On the other hand, Ilkay Gundogan is in his second spell with Manchester City after returning to the Etihad last summer following a short stint with Barcelona. The former German international has made over 350 appearances for City while chipping in with 65 goals and 47 assists. However, the veteran midfielder faces an uncertain future at the Premier League club, and he may reunite with Ederson at Galatasaray.
Turkish adventure beckons?
Galatasaray’s interest in Ederson Moraes is understandable. The Turkish Super Lig champions are keen on signing a top-class goalkeeper in the summer transfer window after parting ways with their long-serving captain Fernando Muslera. So, the Manchester City mainstay has emerged as a viable target for Galatasaray.
As for the links with Ilkay Gundogan, Gabriel Sara faces an uncertain future at RAMS Park amid his links with Premier League clubs. So, the former Manchester City captain is an option worth considering for the Turkish outfit. The two Manchester City veterans have now boosted Cimbom’s prospects, as they are open to joining them in the summer transfer window.
Recent reports have claimed that Manchester City will be open to cashing in on Gundogan in the summer transfer window, and they are also ready to part ways with Ederson. So, the Turkish Super Lig champions will fancy their prospects of securing their services in the coming weeks.
