Chelsea ponder player-plus-cash deal to sign Morgan Rogers

Chelsea are interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers and could look to sweeten the deal for the West Midlands club by including players plus cash.

Chelsea may propose a part-exchange deal to sign Morgan Rogers in the summer transfer windwo. It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa are willing to sanction his departure. According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Englishman is currently valued at €90 million.

Chelsea certainly have the financial resources to meet a significant valuation, and Rogers would be an excellent addition. The 22-year-old is considered one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League, and he was outstanding for Villa last season.

The English international registered 29 goal contributions in all competitions, and his numbers could improve in a team with more quality around him. Rogers is expected to continue developing with experience and coaching, and he possesses all the tools to become a Premier League star.

A move to Chelsea would be an exciting opportunity for the midfielder, but Aston Villa are determined to hold on to one of their best young talents. The Villans are focused on building a squad for the future, and selling Rogers would be a major setback.

Convincing Aston Villa to sell will not be easy

Chelsea may need to table a substantial offer to convince Aston Villa to part ways with Morgan Rogers. Manager Unai Emery is assembling a team capable of regularly competing in Europe, and Aston Villa’s current lack of depth in attack means losing Rogers would further weaken their squad.

The West Midlands outfit would be forced to bring in multiple signings to cover the void left by the 22-year-old this summer. Meanwhile, Chelsea have secured UEFA Champions League qualification and are preparing to challenge for major trophies next season.

The Blues are in the market for quality players to compete with Europe’s elite. Rogers would provide much-needed sharpness in the final third and could elevate the team to a new level. Both clubs have done well to nurture talented young players over the years, and they could play a key role in the development of the 22-year-old as well. He will hope to select a solid project where he will be able to fulfil his ambitions in future.
