West Ham United rival Aston Villa, Tottenham in Jack Grealish chase

West Ham United are ready to rival Aston Villa and Tottenham in the pursuit of 29-year-old Manchester City misfit Jack Grealish.

According to Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Jack Grealish continues to attract the attention of many Premier League sides, with West Ham United joining the chase. Aston Villa and Tottenham are already interested in the 29-year-old Manchester City misfit, as the Hammers are hoping to thrash out a deal on the right terms.

Graham Potter’s first pre-season with West Ham is already underway, albeit with some changes to the squad. There are some fresh faces for the manager to look forward to, while there have been a departure or two so far, with some more expected as the window progresses.

With regards to bringing new players, West Ham are reportedly interested in a move for Jack Grealish. The 29-year-old Manchester City misfit is at an important crossroads in his career, as he has been reportedly told by Pep Guardiola that he can leave this summer.

With Mohammed Kudus joining Tottenham, West Ham need a creative presence in their attacking setup. Apart from the Ghanain international, there are considerable doubts over the future of Lucas Paqueta amid the high-profile betting case against the Brazilian.

Hence, it is no surprise that West Ham are looking into the market for a viable addition, with Grealish now being linked. The big stumbling block standing in West Ham’s way are the 29-year-old’s high wages, as it is reported that he is the highest-paid English player. The story insists that the Hammers will explore a loan deal with options, where they would require Manchester City to cover a chunk of his salary.

West Ham have rivals for Jack Grealish

Aston Villa’s interest is well known, with the club eager to re-sign their former captain on the right conditions. For now, there are no concrete movements from their end, although this is something that could accelerate later in the window when Unai Emery has all his other major business wrapped up.

Newcastle United are also credited with an interest in Jack Grealish, but they are focused on a new striker. Meanwhile, Tottenham were seen as a viable contender a while ago, but their signing of Kudus and the potential arrival of Morgan Gibbs-White would all but rule out a move for the 29-year-old Manchester City misfit.
