PSG line up big-money move to sign Cole Palmer from Chelsea
Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly look to sign 23-year-old English international Cole Palmer from Chelsea in a deal worth €250 million in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Cole Palmer is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 champions are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 23-year-old Chelsea playmaker has emerged as a target for Les Parisiens.
The French heavyweights are ready to submit a big-money bid worth €250 million to sign the Englishman from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. However, the Blues are not willing to cash in on Palmer “under any circumstances”.
Cole Palmer and his Chelsea cheer
Cole Palmer has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in a surprise move in September 2023. The 23-year-old hit the ground running at the West London club, and he has come leaps and bounds in the last two years. The youngster was recently instrumental in Chelsea’s sensational 3-0 win over PSG in the FIFA Club World Cup final.
The Chelsea talisman has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for the Premier League club while chipping in with 43 goals and 29 assists. Meanwhile, Palmer’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. PSG will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Parisian adventure beckons?
Cole Palmer has been on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is somewhat baffling, considering Luis Enrique has several world-class attackers in his squad. Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have been exceptional for PSG under Enrique’s tutelage.
So, it is unclear how Palmer will fit into the scheme of things at PSG. Nevertheless, the Ligue 1 champions are ready to break the bank to sign the 23-year-old Englishman from Chelsea, having formulated a bid worth €250 million to secure his services.
However, convincing Chelsea to part ways with Palmer will be a tall order, even with a bid worth €250 million. The Blues do not want to cash in on the English international in the summer transfer window “under any circumstances”. So, it will be interesting to see if PSG can convince Chelsea to sell the former Manchester City wonderkid in the coming weeks.
