Manchester United have discussions to sign Pervis Estupinan
Manchester United are contenders to sign Pervis Estupinan, with Brighton & Hove Albion open to selling the 27-year-old Ecuadorian this summer.
According to talkSPORT, Manchester United have shifted their focus towards a left-back, and they are now in contention for Pervis Estupinan. The Red Devils will face competition for the Ecuadorian, with Brighton & Hove Albion ready to sell the 27-year-old this summer.
Manchester United are yet to make another signing after the early doors arrival of Matheus Cunha. The Red Devils have stayed focused on attacking signings, with a deal for Bryan Mbeumo already dragging on, while they are also looking for a new striker.
The focus might have shifted towards the defensive side of things, as Manchester United are now looking for a new left-back. The Red Devils were named as a suitor in the race for Pervis Estupinan, with the 27-year-old full-back now available in the market.
Estupinan was linked with many top clubs earlier, although his list of potential suitors have narrowed down in the weeks after. AC Milan are keen to sign the 27-year-old full-back following the departure of Theo Hernandez to Al-Hilal in this window, and they view the Ecuadorian international as a viable replacement.
Manchester United were keen on Estupinan earlier, and they could see an opportunity to land the experienced full-back this summer. Whether they realistically need one remains the question, given they already have Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu to cover for the position, while young Paraguayan defender Diego Leon has also joined the squad.
Brighton ready to sell Pervis Estupinan
Despite having those many options, Manchester United might view Estupinan’s Premier League experience in the league as well as his profile as a proper fit for Ruben Amorim’s system, which requires wing-backs. As for Brighton, they are ready to sell following the arrival of Maxim De Kuyper from Club Brugge, as they were able to beat the competition for the Belgian international.
Estupinan has two years left on his deal at Brighton & Hove Albion, and the time might be right for the Seagulls to cash in. The 27-year-old joined the Premier League club from Villarreal three years ago and has gone on to make 104 appearances, playing in the wing-back and full-back roles.
