Everton interested in Samuel Lino
Everton are seriously considering an approach for Samuel Lino, who is no longer seen as a big part of Diego Simeone’s plans at Atletico Madrid.
According to Fichajes, Everton have set their sights on Samuel Lino as a potential option to improve their attacking setup this summer. The Brazilian wide man is no longer a prominent part of Diego Simeone’s plans for the upcoming seasons, as the Merseysiders could approach, but there’s competition in place, as per the report.
Everton are still in the early stages of their transfer window, as they have plenty of decisions to make with regards to their squad building. David Moyes is eager to improve his attacking setup, while he also wants to focus on strengthening the midfield and defence this summer.
Thierno Barry has already been signed, while Mopyes now focuses his efforts on the wide areas. There’s already talk of re-signing Jack Harrison from Leeds United, while other options for their right wing have been discussed. Moyes also wants a credible left-sided attacker, as Everton are now linked with Atletico Madrid’s Samuel Lino.
The 25-year-old Atletico Madrid star is no longer a prominent feature in Diego Simeone’s plans as the new season approaches. The Argentine coach has already found reinforcements in the market, with key arrival Alex Baena is their new left-winger for the upcoming campaign.
Atletico Madrid have also signed Thiago Almada, who can play on the left side of a front three, although he primarily features in an attacking midfield position. Meanwhile, Everton could sense an opportunity for Lino as they could make an approach for the attacker in the coming period.
Everton faces competition for Samuel Lino
The report does mention other clubs who are interested in Lino, including Everton’s Merseyside rivals, Liverpool. The latter are trying to figure out the future of Luis Diaz, and in the scenario that he departs, the Reds will target a new left-winger amid links to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.
If Liverpool are in the race, then Everton might feel underwhelmed in the pursuit of the 25-year-old Atletico Madrid star. However, the player may make the ultimate decision as he will prioritise a big role as well as regularity at any side, which could potentially give Everton an edge in the chase.
