Arsenal not concerned about Liverpool pursuit of Alexander Isak
Arsenal are content with their own choices and not bothered by Liverpool’s well-publicised pursuit of Alexander Isak.
According to TBR, Arsenal are not concerned with Liverpool’s wel-publisiced pursuit of Alexander Isak. Mikel Arteta has admired the Swede for a long time, but it appears the Gunners are content with their choice of his compatriot Viktor Gyokeres, with the Sporting CP star on the verge of joining the north Londoners.
The past 24-48 hours have seen many twists and turns between Liverpool and Newcastle United over striker targets. The Magpies made a bid for Hugo Ekitike, which resulted in Liverpool enquiring for Alexander Isak the next day, which has caused a stir between the two clubs.
As things stand, Liverpool have since made an enquiry for Ekitike, as they view the Frenchman as their second choice after Isak. As for the Swede, Newcastle United are adamant about keeping him at the club this summer, which made the Ekitike pursuit as an addition rather than a replacement.
At the moment, nothing seems to have been decided on either of those strikers, although Newcastle United are unhappy about the approach from Liverpool. The Merseysiders could still make a push for Isak, although the Magpies are adamant about keeping hold of the Swede.
Amidst the tussle between those two clubs, Arsenal’s name has been mentioned as a keen observer of this pursuit, despite closing their striker requirement recently. Mikel Arteta was a big admirer of Isak for a long time, and the Gunners were widely expected to chase the Swede if he was made available by Newcastle United this summer.
Arsenal not concerned with Alexander Isak
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP in a €73.5 million deal, including add-ons. The Gunners may have been interested in Isak in the past, but the belief is that the prices quoted by Newcastle United may have pushed them away from the Swede’s chase.
As for Liverpool’s pursuit of the Swede, Arsenal are not concerned about Isak joining their title rivals this summer. The Gunners are content with their choices and are focused on recruiting in other attacking areas, as there are big links to Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, while Noni Madueke has already passed his medicals at the club.
