Manchester United make contact to sign Hugo Ekitike

Manchester United are seriously considering a move for the in-demand Hugo Ekitike, having already made contact with the player and his representatives.

According to Caught Offside, Manchester United are firmly looking to establish themselves in the race for the in-demand Hugo Ekitike. The Eintracht Frankfurt striker, rated at €100 million, has credible interest from the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United, with the Red Devils making contact with his entourage.

Eintracht Frankfurt will look to make the best out of the market situation that has opened their doors to entertain big offers for striker Hugo Ekitike. The Bundesliga side are demanding €100 million, and that has been the case for a long time this window, as the Germans are unlikely to budge on their stance.

Manchester United have been interested in Ekitike, as they are chasing a new striker in this window. They have suffered failure in pursuit of a few names already, but they wish to bring a new name while Rasmus Hojlund is expected to depart. Earlier in the window, there were doubts whether the Red Devils could afford Ekitike, but given the latest update, they might be prepared to make a move.

As it stands, Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Ekitike and his representatives, which could be the next step in their pursuit of the forward. However, given that the likes of Newcastle United and Liverpool are serious about the €100 million-rated striker, the Red Devils might fall behind in the race.

As per reports on Monday, Newcastle United were inching closer to signing Ekitike, although Eintracht Frankfurt have rejected their proposal in favour of receiving more money for the €100 million-rated striker. As things stand, Ekitike is at the centre of a transfer storm, which involves Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and Liverpool.

Hugo Ekitike race intensifies

Manchester United’s interest could potentially complicate the already established transfer storm involving Ekitike. Newcastle United did make a bid for Ekitike on Monday, but as of today, David Ornstein has reported that Liverpool have approached for Alexander Isak. To further expand, Liverpool are also interested in Ekitike, although they might want to bring the Swede on priority.

Newcastle United are not eager to sell Isak and instead sign Ekitike to complement the Swede. Hence, in this transfer merry-go-round, does Manchester United stand a chance with Ekitike, especially given that Champions League playing teams are in the mix as well as the price tag placed on the Frankfurt star?
