Manchester United keen on sealing Jadon Sancho exit this week
Manchester United will reportedly look to sanction the departure of 25-year-old English playmaker Jadon Sancho this week amid his links with Serie A club Juventus.
According to a report by Give Me Sport, Jadon Sancho is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 25-year-old Manchester United playmaker has emerged as a target for the Bianconeri.
The Red Devils hope to receive an offer from Juventus this week, and they want to part ways with the Englishman before they embark on their pre-season tour to the United States. Sancho is on high wages at Manchester United, earning £350,000-a-week wages at the Premier League club.
Jadon Sancho has hit a brick wall since joining Manchester from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021. The 25-year-old arrived at Old Trafford amid hype and fanfare surrounding him. However, poor form and attitude issues meant he played his final game for Manchester United two years ago, and he has spent the last 18 months on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.
The English international showed flashes of brilliance in the 2024/25 season but could not convince Chelsea to seal a permanent deal this summer. Sancho managed only five goals and ten assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, and he has returned to Manchester United. However, his stock in the market remains high, with Juventus among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Juventus’s interest in Jadon Sancho makes sense. The Serie A giants are combing the market for a versatile attacker this summer as they look to return to the summit of Italian football. They have already bolstered their offensive unit by signing Jonathan David, and the Manchester United flop has emerged as a viable target for the Bianconeri.
With the 25-year-old Englishman keen on joining a club that will play in the UEFA Champions League next season, Juventus’s prospects of securing his services are bright. However, while the Serie A giants are “intensifying contacts” with Sancho, his €10 million-a-year wages pose an issue for them.
So, Juventus may offer Douglas Luiz in a swap deal involving Sancho, although it is unclear if Manchester United will accept that proposal. Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that the English playmaker is ready to take a pay cut to join the Bianconeri. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Sancho.
