Chelsea rekindle talks to sign Alejandro Garnacho
Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have revived their interest in the services of Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho.
According to a report from TBR Football, Chelsea remain interested in Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho and have held talks with his camp in recent days as they look to bring him on board. Aston Villa are also in the mix, with Unai Emery keen to bolster his attacking options.
Garnacho joined United back in 2020. He went up the ranks and got promoted to their first team at the start of 2022. While the Argentine international had a sensational rise, things have only gone downhill for him since the arrival of Ruben Amorim.
He has had a rift with the manager and was even dropped from the squad for a handful of games. Getting benched in the Europa League final also didn’t do him any good. While he still has three years left on his deal at Old Trafford, the 21-year-old has accepted the fact that he has no future at United under Amorim.
The club are also ready to cash in on the Argentine international as they look to revamp their squad ahead of the Portuguese manager’s first full season at the club. While Garnacho is an incredible talent and quite a few top clubs have been linked with him, nothing concrete has happened so far.
Chelsea and Aston Villa are keen on signing Garnacho
Chelsea, who were keen on signing him during the winter window, are still interested in the young winger as he is an ideal fit for their project. The Blues have an active interest in him and have contacted his people in recent days as they wish to remain informed about his situation.
While the Blues have already added Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro to their team, and Estevao has also joined the club, they are still interested in signing Garnacho.
Noni Madueke is set to join Arsenal, and they are also looking to offload Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix. With Mykhailo Mudryk serving a ban, the United winger could prove to be a valuable addition to their team.
Apart from the Blues, Aston Villa are also interested in his signature as Unai Emery looks for more quality in the wide areas. He is ready to sanction the departure of Leon Bailey, and Garnacho could come in to replace the 27-year-old.
United reportedly want £40 million for the 21-year-old, which could actually prove to be a bargain in the long run, given the massive potential the Argentine international has.
