Celta Vigo offered chance to sign Bryan Gil

Intermediaries have reportedly offered La Liga club Celta Vigo the opportunity to sign 24-year-old Spanish winger Bryan Gil from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet El Desmarque, Bryan Gil has no future at Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old out-of-favour winger has barely featured for the North London club, and they are ready to sanction his exit on “favourable terms”. Meanwhile, a return to La Liga may be on the cards, with intermediaries offering him to Celta Vigo.

Bryan Gil and his Tottenham travails

Bryan Gil has hit a brick wall since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Sevilla in a deal worth €25 million in July 2021. A native of Barbate, the 24-year-old spent his formative years in his homeland, starting his youth career at hometown outfit Barbate CF before joining Sevilla in 2012.

The Spaniard spent nearly a decade with Los Nervionenses, graduating from the club’s youth division before rising in prominence during a loan spell with SD Eibar. However, he barely featured for Sevilla before joining Tottenham and could not make his mark at the North London club, either.

The Spanish winger has embarked on three loan spells in La Liga between January 2022 and June 2025 and spent the 2024/25 campaign with Girona. Gil turned out 32 times for the Catalan outfit while chipping in with four goals and three assists. A return to La Liga may be on the cards for the youngster, with intermediaries offering him to Celta Vigo over a move in the summer transfer window.

La Liga return on the horizon?

Celta Vigo can do with a player like Bryan Gil, even though he has struggled with fitness issues in the last few months. The Galician outfit finished in the top half of the 2024/25 La Liga table, qualifying for the UEFA Europa League after grabbing the seventh spot in the standings.

While Claudio Giraldez has multiple left-wingers in his squad, he has no natural options for the right flank. So, Gil is an option worth considering for Celta Vigo, although it is unclear if the Galician outfit will accept the opportunity to secure the Spaniard’s services in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will unlikely recoup the €25 million they paid to secure his services. However, the Lilywhites are ready to sanction the 24-year-old Spanish winger’s departure on “favourable terms”. So, a return to La Liga may be on the cards.
