West Ham United contemplating Harvey Elliott move

West Ham United will reportedly look to sign 22-year-old English playmaker Harvey Elliott from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by The Guardian, Harvey Elliott is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile playmaker in the summer transfer window. So, the 22-year-old Liverpool prospect has emerged as a target for the East London outfit.

Harvey Elliott and his Liverpool story so far

Harvey Elliott has endured a hit-and-miss career since joining Liverpool from Fulham in July 2019. The Englishman was among the most highly-rated playmakers in his country when he arrived at the Merseyside club half a dozen years ago. However, while the youngster has shown flashes of brilliance, regular first-team opportunities have eluded him.

The 22-year-old has been with the first-team squad for nearly half a decade but has never been a first-choice starter for Liverpool. The frustrations continued in the 2024/25 season, as Elliott did not even manage 1,000 minutes of game time across 28 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with five goals and three assists.

However, the youngster enjoyed success in international football a few weeks ago by winning the Under-21 European Championship with England. But the youngster’s struggles at Liverpool FC may lead to a summer exit, with West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

London return on the horizon?

West Ham United’s interest in Harvey Elliott is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a versatile attacker this summer after selling Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur. The Ghanaian international struggled in the 2024/25 season but has left a gaping hole in the offensive unit at the London Stadium.

So, several candidates, including Tyler Dibling, have emerged on West Ham’s radar, with Elliott also a viable target. While the East London club’s interest is in its infancy, it will not be surprising to see them launch an offensive to sign the 22-year-old Englishman.

However, the Hammers are also interested in another Liverpool prospect, with Tyler Morton on their wishlist. So, it will be interesting to see who bolsters West Ham’s offensive unit in the summer transfer window.
