Manchester United could trigger Moise Kean release clause soon

Manchester United could trigger Moise Kean’s release clause before the set deadline in his Fiorentina contract.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Manchester United could potentially trigger the release clause in Moise Kean’s contract before the deadline set for it. The Red Devils must do so within the next 24 hours or face the prospect of paying more if they are serious about the Italian international.

Moise Kean made the best decision of his career when he chose the Fiorentina project and ended years of uncertainty. The forward thus produced the best goalscoring season of his career to date by scoring 25 goals across all competitions, with only one coming from the penalty spot.

There have been plenty of rumours in the media linking the 25-goal striker to multiple clubs over the last few months. As of now, Manchester United are heavily interested in signing the player following their failure to land many of their striker targets in the last few weeks.

For instance, they were in the race for Liam Delap as well as ready to outbid Arsenal for Viktor Gyokeres. Both those stars have chosen to snub Manchester United, with the club now focused on Kean and were reportedly prepared to trigger his release clause.

There were reports that they might have to sell fringe stars before triggering the €52 million release clause in Kean’s contract. They might have ramped up efforts to sign the Italian, but they face a race against time to get a deal in place as the deadline in the contract to trigger the said clause expires on July 15.

Manchester United have 24 hours to trigger Moise Kean clause

The report stated that Manchester United seriously consider triggering the €52 million clause in Kean’s contract. The issue is that the deadline expires in just over 24 hours, and if any deal was to materialise, it would be very late on Tuesday.

Should Manchester United fail in their idea of triggering the release clause, and if their interest is serious, then Fiorentina are entitled to demand top dollar for their top scorer. Hence, there might be complications if they fail with the deadline, although it’s still not clear whether the 25-goal striker is their priority target this summer.
