Leeds United ponder submitting an offer to sign Evann Guessand

Leeds United will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old versatile Ivorian attacker Evann Guessand from Ligue 1 club OGC Nice in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Evann Guessand is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are keen on bolstering their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a versatile attacker. So, the 24-year-old OGC Nice forward has emerged as a target for the newly promoted Premier League club.

However, the West Yorkshire outfit will face stiff competition from Sunderland and Fenerbahce for his signature in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, a move to England appeals to Guessand, and the versatile Ivorian attacker’s stance should boost Leeds United’s prospects.

Evann Guessand his time in Ligue 1

Evann Guessand has established himself as one of the most promising attackers in Ligue 1 since breaking into the first-team squad at OGC Nice. The Ajaccio native spent his formative years in France and broke into the first-team squad at OGC Nice in January 2020. Since then, he has come leaps and bounds while enjoying an exceptional 2024/25 campaign.

Guessand contributed to 23 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net 13 times and providing 10 assists. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen, with Leeds United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Premier League adventure beckons?

Leeds United’s interest in Evann Guessand is understandable. The Whites are scouring the market for a versatile and productive attacker this summer as they aim to build a squad that can remain in the Premier League beyond the 2025/26 season. While Joel Piroe was excellent in the 2024/25 EFL Championship title-winning campaign, Leeds United must sign someone to compete with him.

So, several candidates, including Callum Wilson, are on Leeds United’s radar, with Guessand also a viable target. However, the newly promoted Premier League club will face stiff competition from Sunderland and Fenerbahce for the versatile Ivorian attacker’s signature in the summer transfer window.

Nevertheless, the Whites are mulling over submitting a bid to sign Guessand from OGC Nice in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international is ready to leave the Ligue 1 club by moving to the Premier League this summer.
