Joao Felix keen on Benfica return, Chelsea want to facilitate quick agreement

Joao Felix is reportedly open to re-joining Benfica, with Chelsea eager to resolve issues in negotiations and facilitate a quick agreement.

According to A-Bola, Chelsea are eager to facilitate a quick agreement with Benfica and sell Joao Felix. The Portuguese star has no place on Enzo Maresca’s side, and remains open to re-joining his former side in Portugal, as the report claims that Benfica might be the only viable option for the Blues at this moment.

Chelsea are eager to resolve some of the issues with unwanted stars in their squad. There are a host of players that the club are eager to offload this summer following a raft of additions. One of those is Joao Felix, who has returned to London following an uneventful loan at AC Milan.

Ever since AC Milan decided against keeping Felix beyond his loan term, Benfica had shown interest in re-signing him. The Portuguese giants were keen last summer before Felix chose to join Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, but now they see another passage to get their former player back.

The report states that Benfica might be the only viable option available at this moment for Chelsea to sell Felix, despite interest from Saudi Arabian sides. The Blues are intent on offloading the attacker, and have already dismissed the idea of another loan move despite the player having a long-term contract in place at Stamford Bridge.

Felix is open to re-joining Benfica, with talks set to intensify in the coming period. Chelsea are eager to facilitate a quick agreement to sell the 2024 signing, and focus on other things that require their attention, such as further inclmings and other outgoings.

Chelsea and Benfica to discuss terms for Joao Felix

It appears there have been talks between the two teams over a permanent deal. Chelsea seemingly values the 2024 signing at around €40 million, and Benfica seems to be open to paying €20 million for 50% of the player’s rights.

Chelsea are open to the prospect of selling half of the player’s rights to Benfica, but they are determined to demand more than the €20 million on offer. The Portuguese giants are open to increasing their bid, but they are not prepared to go on an overkill to secure the player despite Felix being open to making a dramatic return.
