Manchester United can only sign Moise Kean if they can sell their fringe players

Manchester United may have to sell some of their fringe stars to sign striker target Moise Kean, owing to his release clause.

According to TBR, Manchester United are pondering a move for Moise Kean, but they may have to sell some of their fringe stars to facilitate the move. Ruben Amorim is keen to land the striker, but the club may need to stay cautious over the financials involved.

Manchester United’s summer window is yet to pick up momentum despite the early doors signing of Matheus Cunha. At that time, the Red Devils seemed rampant after immediate links to Bryan Mb eumo as their second attacking signing of the summer. The deal for the Cameroonian has dragged on since, with Brentford staying adamant on their asking price.

Manchester United are expected to make a new offer, and alongside, they are also keen to find a solution to their striker problem. Ruben Amorim seeks a new man to lead the line after an ineffective season from Rasmus Hojlund, who could still leave the club if a suitable offer arrives.

The club have not been very successful in their attempts to lure in a striker. Manchester United have already failed with a move for Liam Delap, and while they were open to outbid Arsenal for Viktor Gyokeres, the Swede has since agreed to join the Gunners.

A move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out amid links to the former Everton striker on a free transfer. The latest to enter the frame is Moise Kean, with Manchester United set to ramp up their interest in the Italian striker who scored 25 goals for Fiorentina in the past season, which happens to be his best since turning professional.

Manchester United must find a solution to Moise Kean’s release clause

Kean has a £45 million release clause in his contract that effectively expires on July 15. Hence, the likelihood of the club coming up with the money in such a short period might seem improbable. However, they can potentially have a concrete interest in the forward and strike a deal with Fiorentina.

On the financial side, they must find a solution to pay the asking price for the 25-goal Italian international, and may have to sell some of their fringe players to make the move. As of now, they are keen to prioritise and close the transfer of Mbeumo, as funds for a new striker must be generated through player sales.
