Leeds United plot move for Callum Wilson

Leeds United are vying for free agent Callum Wilson, who is keen to continue playing at the highest level and in a starring role.

According to TBR, Leeds United are interested in exploring a Bosman move for Callum Wilson. Daniel Farke is keen to land a striker with plenty of experience, and has not looked beyond the former Newcastle United man, who remains intent on keeping playing at the highest level.

Callum Wilson recently left Newcastle United upon the expiry of his contract at St James Park. The striker is coming at the back of another injury-troubled season that saw his influence limited under Eddie Howe. The Magpies’ boss thought it was best to let go of the experienced striker, as they are already in search of a replacement.

There are quite a lot of teams that would take Wilson to their side, given the experienced striker’s poise in the game and the Premier League. Wilson has already been offered to several teams, but he’s nowhere close to deciding on his immediate future.

Wilson would like to keep playing at the highest level, and preferably in the Premier League. He does not want to fill up the squad numbers elsewhere, and hence, the experienced striker might take his sweet time in deciding his next steps by evaluating all possible offers with care.

Everton were keen on the striker following the exit of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as David Moyes might look at the option of Wilson. Leeds United are also interested, and it appears, Daniel Farke’s side are now serious about making an offer as they seek an experienced striker upon their return to the top flight.

Callum Wilson to Leeds United?

Wilson may feel he can provide an edge to this Leeds United side and give them the right experience to deal with the rigours of the top flight. Farke will certainly target survival as the priority objective, and will seek some players with know-how of the league. Leeds United are also interested in Newcastle United midfield pair Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock, which shows he’s chasing Premier League-experienced stars.

Wilson will certainly evaluate any offer from Leeds United that comes his way, as game time and importance in the squad are key points for the striker. He could be a solid coup for Farke’s side as the experienced striker can provide the edge newly-promoted sides often need in their first season back in the top flight.
