Leeds United keen on Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Leeds United have secured promotion to the Premier League and are now looking to strengthen their attacking unit, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin emerging as a key target on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old Englishman is currently a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Everton. It will be interesting to see whether Leeds can reach an agreement with the striker.
According to TBR Football, the club are exploring multiple attacking options this summer.
Adding more depth to the attack is a priority. Calvert-Lewin has previously showcased his quality in the Premier League and could prove to be an excellent addition. He is in need of a fresh start at this stage in his career, and a move to Leeds could be ideal for both parties.
At 28, he is still in his prime and will be eager to get back to his best. However, he has struggled with form and injury issues in recent seasons. Leeds will hope to get a deal done swiftly as they look to build a squad capable of competing in the top flight.
Leeds need more experience and quality
Leeds will not want to be relegated after just one season and will need quality additions to ensure survival. Signing experienced players like Calvert-Lewin could help them perform at a high level and remain in the Premier League.
The striker would add physicality and presence up front. His aerial prowess would be another asset for Leeds. It remains to be seen whether he can establish himself as a key figure for the newly promoted side.
Leeds did quite well in the Championship last season, but the step up to the Premier League is massive. They need players with Premier League experience in order to do well next season. Apart from his ability to find the back of the net and add more cutting edge in the final third, the former Everton striker will bring experience and leadership qualities to the dressing room as well.
In addition to that, signing on a free transfer will be a no-brainer. The striker has been previously linked with Manchester United as well.
