Fenerbahce officials travel to London to hold talks to sign Leandro Trossard
Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are reportedly interested in signing Leandro Trossard from Arsenal during the summer transfer window.
Leandro Trossard has not been a regular starter for Arsenal, and he may need to move on in search of consistent playing time. The Belgian international was a squad player for Arsenal in the 2024/25 season.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, officials from the Turkish club have travelled to London to hold talks regarding a move for the Belgian attacker. He is valued at €20 million, and Arsenal would be prepared to let him leave. It remains to be seen whether Fenerbahçe are willing to pay the asking price.
The 30-year-old would be an excellent acquisition for them. Despite not starting regularly for Arsenal, he scored 10 goals last season and picked up 10 assists as well.
Trossard is capable of playing in multiple attacking roles and could be the ideal utility man for the Turkish outfit. Signing a player of his quality for €20 million would represent a bargain. Even though he is 30, he could still be a key player for Fenerbahçe for the foreseeable future.
Can Arsenal afford to sell Trossard?
Meanwhile, Arsenal are already lacking depth in their attacking unit. Selling the Belgian could prove to be a mistake. Even though they have signed Noni Madueke, they should consider holding on to Trossard. He is versatile enough to play in various positions and could be very useful during injuries or squad rotation. He also has the experience to make an immediate impact.
On the other hand, Madueke had a mixed campaign with Chelsea last season and will need time to fulfil his potential. It remains to be seen whether he can hit the ground running at Arsenal and adequately replace Trossard.
A move to Turkey could be an exciting opportunity for Trossard at this stage of his career. He will not want to sit on the bench at Arsenal next season. Playing regularly will be a priority for him. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can work out a deal in the coming weeks.
