AC Milan considering Nicolas Jackson as backup target

AC Milan are reportedly interested in Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, although he is currently viewed as a backup option.

According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Nicolas Jackson could end up parting ways with Chelsea this summer, and AC Milan have emerged as a potential destination for the Senegalese international. While the Serie A giants are keen on his signature, he is not their priority target for now.

Jackson came up the ranks and made a name for himself while playing for Villarreal’s first team before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2023. Over the last two seasons, the 24-year-old has featured in a total of 81 matches, and he has contributed towards 42 goals (30 goals, 12 assists).

While he has done a decent job up top, Enzo Maresca is keen on having a more prominent striker leading the line for Chelsea. As a result, the Blues have forked out big money to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, and they have backed it up with another top signing in Joao Pedro from Brighton.

The Brazilian striker has already made a mark with important goals in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and they are hoping for a similar impact from Delap. The two big-money signings have left Nicolas Jackson worried about his future, and it is pretty clear that they cannot really have three prominent strikers in their squad.

Will AC Milan make a move for Jackson?

The report suggests Chelsea are ready to open the door for the Senegalese international. They have handed the former Villarreal attacker enough opportunities, and he has not been able to cement his spot in their starting XI. As a result, they are willing to listen to offers for him, and AC Milan are well aware of this situation.

The Serie A giants are looking for a new striker ahead of next season, and Nicolas Jackson is quite high on their wishlist. While they do admire the 24-year-old and his versatility could come in handy, he is not their priority target.

AC Milan are prioritising the signing of Dusan Vlahovic from Chelsea. If that move does not go according to plan, they could end up making a move for Jackson, who is no longer an important part of the West London club’s plans moving ahead.
